  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons limoncello (optional)
  • Powdered sugar or extra lemon zest for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Lemon Cream:
    • Whisk egg yolks and sugar in a bowl until pale and creamy.
    • Add mascarpone cheese, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Stir until smooth.
    • In another bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture.
  • Soak the Ladyfingers:
    • In a shallow dish, mix lemon juice, water, and limoncello (if using).
    • Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the mixture, ensuring they are moist but not soggy.
  • Assemble the Layers:
    • Place a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a dish.
    • Spread half the lemon cream over the ladyfingers.
    • Repeat with another layer of ladyfingers and the remaining cream.
  • Chill and Garnish:
    • Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
    • Before serving, garnish with powdered sugar or extra lemon zest.
