Instructions
For Mashed Potatoes:
- Peel and chop potatoes into even-sized chunks.
- Boil potatoes in salted water for 15–20 minutes or until fork-tender.
- Drain and return potatoes to the pot.
- Add melted butter and warmed milk. Mash until smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
For Gravy:
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Whisk in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes to make a roux.
- Gradually add chicken stock, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
- Season with salt, pepper, and thyme. Cook until thickened.
- Serve the gravy over mashed potatoes.
