- 1 cup Butter, softened
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 3/4 cup Brown sugar, packed
- 2 large Eggs
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 2 cups Ghirardelli 60% Cacao Chocolate Chips
- 1 cup Walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or leave them ungreased.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, beat softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and creamy.
- Add eggs and vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Combine mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips: Stir in the Ghirardelli chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
- Scoop and bake: Drop tablespoon-sized dough portions onto baking sheets. Bake for 9–11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool and serve: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
