- 1 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup white wine (or chicken broth as a substitute)
- 1/4 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, fresh parsley for garnish, grated Parmesan
Instructions
- Prepare the Shrimp
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Season with salt and black pepper.
- Cook the Shrimp
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the shrimp and sauté for about 2 minutes on each side until pink. Remove and set aside.
- Make the Sauce
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes, reducing slightly.
- Stir in lemon juice, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using).
- Combine Shrimp and Sauce
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss them in the sauce until evenly coated.
- Garnish and Serve
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan.
- Serve immediately over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
