- 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup grated cheese (Gruyère or cheddar)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Boil the diced potatoes in salted water until tender, about 10-15 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash them with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
- Transfer the mashed potatoes to a baking dish and spread evenly.
- Top with grated cheese and minced garlic.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can add a bit of cream to the mashed potatoes before baking.
