- 12 wings chicken wings
- Β½ cup bourbon
- ΒΌ cup honey
- 2 habanero peppers
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- Fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Combine Bourbon and Honey in a bowl. Stir until honey is fully dissolved.
- Add soy sauce and lime juice to the mixture.
- Finely chop habanero peppers (wear gloves) and add to the marinade.
- Add minced garlic, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Place the wings in a resealable bag/container and pour marinade over them. Marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C) or grill to medium-high heat. For crispy wings, oven-baking is recommended.
- Coat wings with olive oil if baking. If grilling, ensure grill is well-oiled.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or grill for 10-12 minutes per side until crispy and golden.
- For the glaze, bring the leftover marinade to a simmer, adding cornstarch until thickened (5-7 minutes).
- Toss the cooked wings in the thickened glaze.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with your favorite sides.
Notes
You can adjust the heat by removing the seeds from the habaneros or using fewer peppers.
